<aside> 💡 Dap Dap began with one question in mind:

In a world of 40+ Layer 2s, thousands of Layer 2 applications, and hundreds of application forks, how can a user efficiently discover and access the right applications?

Introducing Dap Dap

The Universal Entry Point to Layer 2s

Dap Dap is a one-stop dApp aggregator designed to serve as the universal entry point to Layer 2s (L2). Built for the everyday DeFi user, it simplifies every step of the way from onboarding, discovery, access, to portfolio management, to make your L2 journey as approachable as it is efficient. Fully leveraging the Blockchain Operating System (BOS), Dap Dap maximizes frontend decentralization, security, and scalability.

For the User, By the User

As long-time DeFi builders and active users ourselves, we are familiar with the hassle and fragmentation plaguing the current multichain DeFi experience, or the Web3 user experience at large. What makes Dap Dap special is not only the security and decentralization achieved through BOS, but also the user journey designed for the everyday DeFi user, by the everyday DeFi user.

Think Binance, where everything you need, from swaps to perps to portfolio, are offered on one platform. Dap Dap enables you to discover and access dApps from various L2s in one place, with a single wallet sign-in, making the multichain experience as efficient and frictionless as possible.

Dap Dap not only offers direct access to dApps, but customized features such as dApp categorization, portfolio tools, and user account information, to enhance user experience. In addition, we also built an intent-centric search bar and a one-click transaction function to facilitate the most intuitive onboarding experience to L2s and their dApps.

In a fast growing L2 market, the pace of integration is key. Having started just 4 months ago and currently in alpha, Dap Dap already supports native interactions with 11 chains and 100+ trending DeFi applications, include, Uniswap V3, Gamma, Pendle, Stargate and more.

Shifting Paradigms with The Blockchain Operating System (BOS)

At Consensus 2023, Illia Polosukhin, the co-founder of NEAR Protocol, introduced the concept of the Blockchain Operating System (BOS). In his words, BOS is “a common layer for browsing and discovering open web experiences, compatible with any blockchain.”

The primary innovation of BOS is the technology by which decentralized and composable frontends can be built, deployed, and stored entirely on-chain on NEAR. In its full stack, BOS looks something like the image below: decentralized frontends can be built and stored on-chain on NEAR, hosted and accessed via gateways of one’s choice, which interact with Web3 services and smart contracts from any blockchain.
